Sovereign Water offers a range of high-performance water softeners designed to effectively reduce water hardness and prevent scale buildup, protecting your appliances, plumbing, and equipment. Our water softeners use advanced ion-exchange technology to remove calcium, magnesium, and other minerals that cause hardness, delivering soft, high-quality water for domestic, commercial, and industrial applications.
The Regal Water Softener Range features compact and robust units built to handle varying levels of water hardness across all settings. With models including the Regal 250, Regal 370, and Regal 490, we provide solutions precisely sized to your specific water usage requirements. Each model is equipped with up-flow regeneration technology, which maximizes resin lifespan while optimizing salt and water consumption for efficient operation.
Our water softeners are engineered for demanding conditions, featuring reliable US-made Clack valves, high-quality pressure tanks, and durable resin beds. They effectively remove hardness even in regions where water contains exceptionally high levels of dissolved minerals, providing a consistent supply of softened water for food service, hospitality, and industrial processes.
Specifically designed for global applications, our water softeners perform reliably in regions with high mineral content, temperature fluctuations, or extreme water conditions. Whether you’re addressing hard water in a domestic setting or protecting commercial equipment from scale buildup, Sovereign Water delivers consistent, dependable performance that extends the life of your infrastructure and reduces maintenance costs.
At Sovereign Water, we supply, install, and maintain water softening solutions for all applications, from small households to large commercial facilities. How Water Softeners Work
Water softeners use a process called ion-exchange to remove hardness-causing minerals from your water supply. Hard water contains high concentrations of calcium and magnesium ions, which create scale buildup in pipes, appliances, and heating elements, reducing efficiency and shortening equipment lifespan.
The softening process begins when hard water enters the softener tank, which contains thousands of tiny resin beads. These beads are coated with sodium ions and act like magnets for hardness minerals. As hard water flows through the resin bed, the calcium and magnesium ions are attracted to the resin beads and exchanged for sodium ions. The sodium ions are released into the water while the hardness minerals remain trapped on the resin.
Once the resin beads become saturated with calcium and magnesium, the system enters a regeneration cycle. During regeneration, a concentrated salt solution (brine) is flushed through the resin tank. The high concentration of sodium in the brine solution forces the trapped calcium and magnesium ions off the resin beads, washing them down the drain. The resin beads are then recharged with fresh sodium ions, ready to soften water again.
Modern water softeners like our Regal range use demand-initiated regeneration, which means the system only regenerates when necessary based on actual water usage rather than on a fixed schedule. This intelligent approach conserves salt and water while ensuring you always have soft water available. The entire regeneration process typically occurs during off-peak hours, usually at night, ensuring uninterrupted soft water supply throughout the day.
The result is softened water that protects your appliances, eliminates scale buildup, reduces soap and detergent usage, and provides a better experience for drinking, cooking, and bathing.
