Auto-Backwash Sediment Filter 10 × 54
A heavy-duty, fully assembled auto-backwash sediment filter on a 10 × 54 inch pressure vessel and CE 1 inch valve, built for Clack Filter-Ag deep-bed media that reduces suspended solids to the 20 to 40 micron range.

About the Auto-Backwash Sediment Filter 10 × 54
This is a heavy-duty, fully assembled filtration unit built around a 10 × 54 inch pressure vessel with a CE 1 inch control valve. It is automated, flexibly configurable, and suited to residential estates, commercial facilities and industrial pre-treatment.
The sediment version is designed for Clack Filter-Ag, a silica quartz media whose irregular surface reduces suspended solids to about the 20 to 40 micron range.

Typical applications
Who this unit is for
- Residential estates with sediment in the supply.
- Commercial facilities that want suspended solids out ahead of other equipment.
- Industrial pre-treatment, ahead of other plant.
- Sites that may later grow: units scale from 1 to 6 on a Clack controller.
How the Auto-Backwash Sediment Filter 10 × 54 works
The datasheet shows five steps: feed water in, the 10 × 54 inch media bed, deep-bed filtration, automatic backwash regeneration, and filtered water out.
Filter-Ag is silica crystalline quartz. Its fractured edges and irregular surface give a high surface area and a complex flow path for removing suspended matter. The larger particle size means lower pressure loss, deeper sediment penetration and longer filter runs.
The control valve regenerates by time or by volume, delayed, immediate or both. The datasheet does not give a flow rate or operating pressure for this unit, so we confirm the flow and the number of units at survey.

Which one should you choose?
The three smaller auto-backwash units share a design. The difference is the vessel size and the media inside.
Auto-Backwash Carbon Filter 10 × 54
You need chlorine, THM and organics removed with AquaSorb CS coconut-shell carbon, on a 10 × 54 inch vessel and CE 1 inch valve.
Auto-Backwash Sediment Filter 10 × 54
You need suspended solids reduced to the 20 to 40 micron range with Filter-Ag, on a 10 × 54 inch vessel and CE 1 inch valve.
Auto-Backwash Sediment Filter 21 × 62
You need finer sediment removal, to about 5 micron with Filter-Ag Plus, on a larger 21 × 62 inch vessel and CE 1.25 inch valve.
Regent Sediment 3072
You need a published flow figure and a larger unit: 11.8 m³/h on a 30 × 72 inch vessel with a metered CE 1.5 inch valve.
Installation and servicing
The unit is a complete assembly, ready for media loading: the control valve, meter assembly, DLFC, distributor sets, drain fitting, funnel and power supply. The media is specified on order. An optional Clack system controller runs twin, duplex or 2 to 6 unit set-ups.
The unit runs on 230 V, 50/60 Hz at 30 W. The media is rated to a maximum water temperature of 60 °C and a service flow rate of 12 m/h. We check the rest against your site at survey.
The survey is chargeable and is credited back if you go ahead.
Auto-Backwash Sediment Filter 10 × 54 questions answered
What does this unit remove?
Suspended solids. Filter-Ag typically reduces them to about the 20 to 40 micron range.
How much water can it treat?
The datasheet does not give a flow rate for this unit, only a media service flow rate of 12 m/h. We confirm the flow, and how many units you need, at survey.
What size is the vessel and valve?
A 10 × 54 inch pressure vessel with a CE 1 inch control valve.
What is Filter-Ag?
A silica, crystalline quartz media with an effective size of 0.67 mm and a 10 × 34 mesh size. It is NSF/ANSI 61 certified, with a maximum water temperature of 60 °C.
How does it clean itself?
It backwashes automatically, by time or by volume, delayed, immediate or both, programmed to demand.
Can I run more than one?
Yes. Standalone, twin, duplex or 2 to 6 units, with an optional Clack system controller.
Is the media included?
No. The datasheet lists the media as specified on order, and the unit is supplied ready for media loading.
What is the difference from the 21 × 62 unit?
The 21 × 62 inch unit is larger, uses a CE 1.25 inch valve, and is built for Filter-Ag Plus, which reduces solids to about 5 micron.
What warranty does it have?
The datasheet does not state a warranty period. We confirm the warranty terms at survey.
Do you supply, install and maintain it?
Yes. We supply and install it, and offer a Comprehensive Maintenance plan with consumables. The survey is chargeable and is credited back if you go ahead.

Supplied, installed and serviced across the UK
Across most of southern and eastern England, mains water is very hard. Rain filtering through chalk and limestone dissolves calcium and magnesium, and that scale coats heating elements, so we size every system to your supply and your equipment.
