Commercial water treatment for UK businesses
Filtration, softening, reverse osmosis and UV, sized to your site and installed by our own engineers. We protect your equipment from scale, keep water consistent for coffee, ice and kitchens, and help you stay on top of legionella control.

What commercial water has to get right
Business water is about more than taste. It decides how long expensive equipment lasts, how often it breaks down, and whether you can show your water is safe.
Scale and downtime
Hard water leaves scale in boilers, water heaters, dishwashers and ice machines. Heating elements work harder, and breakdowns come at the worst moments.
Taste and consistency
Chlorine and dissolved solids change how coffee, drinks and ice taste. Multi-site operators need the same water at every site.
Safety and records
Hospitality and healthcare sites need to show their water is managed. That means the right treatment, legionella control and a record of every service visit.
The treatments we install
Our own Sovereign range covers each stage. Most sites need more than one, in the right order: filtration first, then softening or reverse osmosis, with UV as the final barrier.
FiltrationRegent filters
Removes sediment, chlorine taste and odour before water reaches taps, boilers and equipment.
Cartridge housings up to 5.0 m3/h, or self-cleaning backwash filters at 11.8 m3/h.
By quote
SofteningRegal softeners
Stops scale at source in boilers, dishwashers, glasswashers and coffee machines.
Metered regeneration on every model, up to 18.2 m3/h on the twin for 24/7 soft water.
By quote
Reverse osmosisSovereign RO
Holds back dissolved solids for consistent water in coffee, ice, steam ovens and production.
From 60 L/h for a coffee bar to engineered plants up to 56 m3/h.
By quote
UV disinfectionSovSafe UV
Inactivates bacteria and viruses with UV light, with nothing added to the water.
Up to 99.9% inactivation, with about one lamp change a year.
By quoteFilters do not soften or disinfect water. UV does not remove hardness, chlorine or particles. That is why we design the whole system, not one box.
Which treatment for which problem
Start with what is going wrong, or what you need to protect. We confirm the system once we know your supply and peak flow.
| Problem | Treatment | From our range |
|---|---|---|
| Scale in boilers, heaters and dishwashers | Softening | Regal softeners |
| Sediment, chlorine taste and odour | Filtration | Regent filters |
| Coffee, ice and steam ovens that need the same water every day | Reverse osmosis | Sovereign RO |
| Bacteria and viruses, for example after storage tanks | UV disinfection | SovSafe UV |
| Legionella risk in hot and cold water systems | L8 risk assessment and control | Legionella control |
Not sure how hard your water is? Check your postcode on our UK water hardness map. UK water is softest in the north and west and hardest in the south and east.
L8 legionella risk assessments
UK employers and people in control of premises must assess and control the risk of legionella in their water systems. The HSE sets out how in its Approved Code of Practice, L8.
We carry out L8 legionella risk assessments and help put the control measures in place, so your treatment plant and your legionella control are looked after by one team. Read our guide to controlling legionella in water systems.
Water treatment for your type of site
Hotels
Soft water for boilers, laundries and kitchens, filtered water for bars and ice, and twin systems that never stop for regeneration.
Restaurants and cafes
Scale protection for dishwashers, combi ovens and espresso machines, plus reverse osmosis where coffee and ice need the same water every day.
Offices
Filtered water for kitchens and tea points, and softening that keeps water heaters and boilers clear of scale.
Healthcare
UV disinfection as a final barrier after filtration, and L8 legionella control for hot and cold water systems.
Schools and colleges
Filtration for kitchens and drinking points, and planned servicing with every visit recorded.
Food and drink production
Industrial reverse osmosis and softening sized to your process demand, with filtration ahead to protect membranes and resin.

Tell us about your site
Every system is priced by quote, because it is sized to your water, your flow and your equipment. Tell us the type of site, the postcode and what you need to fix, and we will come back with a recommendation.
- We reply within one working day.
- We survey the site, then design and quote the system.
- Our own engineers install it and service it on a plan.
Survey, install and maintain
Paid site survey
We look at your supply, your equipment and your peak demand on site. The survey is a paid visit, and it means the system is sized right first time.
Design and install
You get a system design and an itemised quote. Our own engineers then install and commission it, scheduled around your operation.
Planned maintenance
Our maintenance plans cover planned service visits from every 3 months, priority call-out and digital records of every visit, across one site or many.
Commercial water treatment questions
What is commercial water treatment?
It is the equipment that makes a building's water right for what the business uses it for. That usually means filtration to remove sediment and chlorine taste, softening to stop scale, reverse osmosis for very consistent water, and UV to disinfect. Most sites need two or more of these working together.
Do I need a water softener or a filter?
They do different jobs. A filter removes particles, chlorine taste and odour, but it does not remove the calcium and magnesium that cause scale. A softener stops scale. Many sites use both, with the filter first.
Is UK water hard enough to need treatment?
It depends where you are. UK water is softest in the north and west and hardest in the south and east. Check your postcode on our water hardness map for a typical figure.
Do you carry out legionella risk assessments?
Yes. We carry out L8 legionella risk assessments and can help put the control measures in place across your hot and cold water systems.
How much does commercial water treatment cost?
Every system is priced by quote, because it is sized to your water, your flow and your equipment. Tell us about your site and we will come back with a recommendation and an itemised quote.
Do you service the systems you install?
Yes. Our own engineers install every system and look after it on a maintenance plan, with planned service visits from every 3 months depending on your water and application, and every visit recorded.
