Boiling water taps for the home.
A boiling water tap puts hot water on demand in your kitchen, so the kettle can go. RoyalFlow gives boiling, chilled, sparkling and ambient filtered water from one tap. Here is how they work, what to check before you buy, and how a RoyalFlow goes in.
- Serves households of up to 8 people
- Safety lock on boiling water
- Designed for a keen DIYer or local plumber to fit

How a boiling water tap works.
The tap on your worktop is only the outlet. The work happens in a compact unit in the cupboard beneath, which is why a boiling tap leaves your worktop clearer than a kettle does.
- 01
Mains in
The unit connects to your cold mains water supply, through an isolation valve you can reach.
- 02
Filtered first
Every RoyalFlow has built-in carbon filtration and UV as standard, so the water is treated before it is heated, chilled or carbonated.
- 03
Ready in the cupboard
The unit sits out of sight and refills continuously as it pours. It serves households of up to 8 people.
- 04
One tap, every water
Boiling, chilled, sparkling or ambient from the same slim tap, depending on the configuration you choose. Boiling water has a safety lock.

What actually changes in the kitchen.
No more waiting
Boiling water the moment you want it. Nothing to fill, nothing to switch on, nothing to wait for.
Your worktop back
The kettle, the filter jug and the sparkling machine can all retire. The kitchen keeps one tap and a small drip tray.
No bottled water
Chilled and sparkling filtered water from the tap, so nobody lugs packs home or crowds the fridge.
A safety lock
Boiling water has a safety lock, so it cannot be poured by accident. Worth knowing if there are children in the house.
| Kettle | Boiling water tap | |
|---|---|---|
| Getting hot water | Fill, switch on, wait | On demand from the tap |
| Other waters | Boiling only | Chilled, sparkling and ambient from the same tap, by configuration |
| Water quality | Tap water as it comes | Carbon-filtered and UV-treated as standard |
| Worktop | Kettle on the counter | A slim tap and a small drip tray |
| Little hands | An open, hot kettle in reach | Safety lock on boiling water |
A boiling water tap is a bigger purchase than a kettle, and it needs a cupboard to live in and a small amount of installation. We have not put running-cost figures here because they depend on how you use it.
Seven tap designs. Five finishes.
The C1 has a rounded swan spout and the S1 a squared U-spout. Both are smart taps with a touch panel, and both come in all five finishes. The C2, S2 and C4 have a hot and cold mixer, so they can replace your kitchen tap entirely.

Four stages, to suit your water.
Every unit starts with built-in carbon filtration and UV. If you want more, there are three further stages. Check what your area is like with the postcode water-hardness guide. If you already have a softener, softened water is not ideal for drinking, which makes Home Taste+ more relevant, not less.
- 1
Home Basic

Built-in carbon filtration and UV, fitted in every unit as standard. A good fit where the mains water is already soft and clear.
- 2
Home Basic+

Adds a 10-inch sediment pre-filter in front of the unit to catch grit and protect it.
- 3
Home Soft+

Basic+ with a floorstanding resin cartridge added, for hard-water areas. Less scale in the unit and a cleaner taste.
- 4
Home Taste+

Basic+ with a compact reverse osmosis unit and a remineraliser cartridge added, for the best taste and protection.
Check, fit, switch on, keep running.
RoyalFlow is designed to be installed by a keen DIY enthusiast or a local plumber. It comes with fittings, hoses and valves, and is installed with WRAS-approved fittings.
- 01
Check the space
The unit needs a cupboard under a double 60 x 60 sink. The Home+ version is smaller and fits under a single 60 x 60 sink. Unsure? A survey is available as a chargeable service, credited against your order.
- 02
Get the worktop cut
Cutting and drilling the worktop is not included. We supply a template and exact dimensions after ordering. For stone or composite, use a fitter who knows the material.
- 03
Fit it
You need a cold mains supply with an accessible isolation valve and a switched fused socket inside the cupboard. A typical kitchen takes well under a day.
- 04
Keep it running
Filters ship every 6 months on subscription, and you can change them yourself. One service visit a year keeps it performing.
Every RoyalFlow home unit comes with a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty against manufacturing defects, covering replacement parts. Spare parts are available for 10 years from purchase. Labour and call-out are not covered.
Boiling water tap questions.
What is a boiling water tap?
A kitchen tap that gives boiling water on demand. The water is heated in a compact unit under the sink, so there is nothing to fill and no wait. RoyalFlow can also give chilled, sparkling and ambient filtered water from the same tap.
How does a boiling water tap work?
Water comes in from the mains, is filtered, then heated, chilled or carbonated in the unit in your cupboard. It reaches you through a slim tap on the worktop. The unit refills as it pours, so it keeps up rather than running dry.
Can a boiling water tap replace my kettle?
For most households, yes. The under-counter unit serves households of up to 8 people and refills continuously. Many people retire the kettle, the filter jug and the sparkling machine and keep one tap.
Is a boiling water tap safe with children around?
RoyalFlow has a safety lock on boiling water. Hot water needs a deliberate second step, so little hands cannot pour it by accident. It is a safety feature, not a substitute for supervision.
Do I need a plumber to fit one?
RoyalFlow is designed to be installed by a keen DIY enthusiast or a local plumber, and is supplied with fittings, hoses and valves. It is installed with WRAS-approved fittings. Cutting the worktop is not included. We supply a template and exact dimensions after ordering.
Will it work with hard water?
Yes. Every unit has built-in carbon filtration and UV as standard. For hard-water areas there is Home Soft+, and Home Taste+ adds reverse osmosis. Our postcode water-hardness guide shows what your area is like.
Can it replace my kitchen mixer tap?
Yes, with a mixer design. The RoyalFlow C2, S2 and C4 have a hot and cold mixer, so they can replace your existing kitchen tap entirely. Many customers keep their mixer and add RoyalFlow purely for drinking water.
Will it fit in my cupboard?
The unit is compact, 23 x 43.5 x 39.5 cm, sized for a standard kitchen cupboard. It needs a cupboard under a double 60 x 60 sink; the Home+ version is smaller and fits under a single 60 x 60 sink. If you are unsure, a survey is available as a chargeable service, credited against your order.
