About the Everpure Kleensteam CT System
The Everpure Kleensteam CT is a total water treatment system for steam applications. It fits commercial and countertop steamers. Everpure says it delivers filtered water with cleaning and deliming capability, to improve performance, increase energy efficiency and extend the life of steam equipment.
It has two stages. A 4CB5 carbon block cartridge filters the incoming water. An SR-X feeder then adds Hydroblend, Everpure's scale inhibitor, which prevents limescale forming in steam applications. We supply, fit and service the system. If you also need a head for drinks cartridges, see the QL3B head, or browse the Everpure range.

Typical applications
Who the Everpure Kleensteam CT is for
- Kitchens with a commercial steamer or a countertop steamer fed from the mains.
- Operators who are tired of limescale in the boiler and want to reduce it.
- Sites that want to reduce chlorine-induced corrosion in steam equipment.
- Engineers who want a system that can be delimed through the feeder, without taking the boiler apart.
- Operators who prefer a scheduled cartridge change, with no electrical connection to wire up.
How the Everpure Kleensteam CT System works
Incoming cold water first passes through the 4CB5 cartridge. It is a carbon block with exclusive precoat filtration. Everpure says it reduces chlorine taste and odour and micro-filters dirt and particles down to 5 micron, as tested by Pentair. NSF International certifies it to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for chlorine taste and odour reduction.
The water then passes through the SR-X feeder. Its SS-IMF cartridge releases Hydroblend, a polyphosphate scale inhibitor, in controlled amounts. Everpure says this prevents limescale in steam applications and gives more effective protection than standard phosphate treatments. A clear bowl lets you see when the compound is used up. The SS-IMF is certified under NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for material requirements only.
Everpure's ScaleKleen is fed through the SR-X bowl directly into the boiler for deliming. Everpure says this needs no boiler disassembly and no dangerous acids. Pre-existing scale may come loose and clog equipment, so loose scale should be removed first.
Which one should you choose?
Steam equipment needs scale control as well as filtration. Other Everpure products suit other jobs. We choose from your equipment at survey.
Kleensteam CT
You have a commercial or countertop steamer and want filtration plus scale inhibitor in one system.
Everpure Claris cartridges
You run combi steamers, self-cooking systems, coffee or espresso and want carbonate hardness adjustment.
Insurice systems
The water is going to an ice machine, not a steamer.
Installation and servicing
Everpure's installation tips: choose a mounting location that supports the full weight of the system when it is operating. Use a 3/8 inch water line. Connect the system to the incoming cold water boiler line only, and do not connect it to the condenser. Install it vertically with the cartridges hanging down and 2.5 inches (6.35 cm) of clearance below them. Flush the cartridges by running water through the system for five minutes at full flow.
The system is 15.23 inches long, 13.72 inches wide and 6.23 inches deep (38.6 × 34.8 × 23.5 cm), and weighs 18 lb (8.1 kg) in operation. Inlet water must not be hotter than 80 °F (27 °C), and the alkalinity range is 2 to 12 grains per gallon. We confirm the water and the equipment at survey.
Everpure's operation tips: change the 4CB5 cartridge on a regular six-month preventative maintenance programme. Change the SS-IMF cartridge before the Hydroblend compound is completely used up. Change cartridges when capacity is reached or pressure falls below 10 psi (0.7 bar). Service flow must not exceed 1.67 gpm. The survey is chargeable and is credited back if you go ahead.

Everpure Kleensteam CT System questions answered
What is the Everpure Kleensteam CT?
A total water treatment system for commercial and countertop steamers. A 4CB5 filter cartridge and an SR-X scale inhibitor feeder work together.
What does it do about limescale?
Everpure says its Hydroblend compound prevents limescale formation in steam applications. The SR-X feeder releases it in controlled amounts.
Can it descale equipment?
Everpure says its ScaleKleen deliming product is fed through the SR-X bowl directly into the boiler, with no boiler disassembly or dangerous acids.
What does the 4CB5 cartridge do?
It reduces chlorine taste and odour and micro-filters dirt and particles down to 5 micron, as tested by Pentair. It is NSF/ANSI 42 certified for chlorine taste and odour.
Is Hydroblend NSF certified?
The SS-IMF cartridge is certified under NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for material requirements only.
What flow can it handle?
Up to 1.67 gallons a minute (6.3 litres a minute). Service flow must not exceed that.
What water can go through it?
Cold water only, up to 80 °F (27 °C), connected to the cold boiler line. Everpure gives an alkalinity range of 2 to 12 grains per gallon.
How often are the cartridges changed?
Change the 4CB5 on a six-month preventative maintenance programme. Change the SS-IMF before the Hydroblend is completely used up. The clear bowl shows how much is left.
Does it need power?
No. No electrical connection is required.
What are the part numbers?
EV9797-50 is the system, EV9617-16 is the 4CB5 cartridge and EV9799-32 is the SS-IMF cartridge.
Do you supply, fit and change it?
Yes. We supply the system, fit it and change the cartridges under a maintenance plan. The survey is chargeable and is credited back if you go ahead.

Supplied, installed and serviced across the UK
Across most of southern and eastern England, mains water is very hard. Rain filtering through chalk and limestone dissolves calcium and magnesium, and that scale coats heating elements, so we size every system to your supply and your equipment.
Tell us about your site and what you need the water for. We specify the system, fit it and keep it running under Comprehensive Maintenance.
