Everpure Insurice Twin-i2000² System

The Everpure Insurice Twin-i2000² is a two-cartridge ice machine filter system. It is rated for cubers up to 1,450 lb a day and flakers up to 2,200 lb a day, with 18,000 US gallons (68,137 litres) of capacity at up to 3.34 gallons a minute.

Overview

About the Everpure Insurice Twin-i2000² System

The Everpure Insurice Twin-i2000² puts two i2000² cartridges on one manifold. That doubles the flow and the capacity of the Single. Everpure rates it for cubers at 1,450 lb (658 kg) a day and flakers at 2,200 lb (998 kg) a day, with 18,000 US gallons (68,137 litres) of rated capacity at up to 3.34 gallons a minute.

The manifold has a water shut-off, a flushing valve and an outlet pressure gauge, so the system is easier to commission and to check. We supply, fit and service it. If your incoming water is dirty, look at the Twin PF-i2000², which adds a prefilter. For one small machine, see the Single-i2000². The wider range is on our Everpure page.

Features

What it does.

  • Two i2000² cartridges on one manifold for higher flow and capacity
  • Micro-Pure II media inhibits the growth of bacteria on the filter media
  • Micro-filters dirt and particles as small as 0.2 micron by mechanical means
  • Manifold has a water shut-off, a flushing valve and an outlet pressure gauge
  • Reduces chlorine taste and odour
  • Reduces scale-related ice machine problems from dirt and dissolved minerals, as tested by Pentair
  • Certified to NSF/ANSI Standards 42 and 53, including cyst reduction

Who it's for

Who the Everpure Insurice Twin-i2000² is for

  • Hotels, bars and restaurants whose ice machine makes up to 1,450 lb (658 kg) of cubes a day.
  • Sites with a flaker up to 2,200 lb (998 kg) a day.
  • Kitchens with a busy machine that draws more than a single cartridge should carry, up to 3.34 gpm.
  • Operators who like a pressure gauge on the outlet, so a clogging cartridge can be spotted early.
  • Sites that want a scheduled cartridge change instead of finding out when ice quality drops.
How it works

How the Everpure Insurice Twin-i2000² System works

01

Water enters the manifold and flows through two i2000² cartridges. Each uses Everpure's Micro-Pure II media, which reduces chlorine taste and odour and, Everpure says, inhibits the growth of bacteria on the media. The precoat filtration micro-filters dirt and particles as small as 0.2 micron by mechanical means. Everpure says an ISO 17025 accredited lab validated a 99.999% reduction of Pseudomonas diminuta, following ASTM F838-05.

02

Everpure says the system reduces water-related ice machine problems caused by scale build-up from dirt and dissolved minerals. That claim is marked on the sheet as tested by Pentair. The sheet lists no scale inhibitor feed for this system.

03

NSF International certifies the system to NSF/ANSI Standards 42 and 53. Standard 42 covers chlorine taste and odour. Standard 53 covers mechanical filtration: turbidity, cysts such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia, and nominal particulate class I. Everpure notes the system must not be used on water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after it.

Compare

Which one should you choose?

Pick the system by the ice machine's output and by how clean the incoming water is. We settle this at survey.

Single-i2000²

You have one smaller machine: cubers up to 750 lb a day, flakers up to 1,500 lb a day.

Twin-i2000²

You have a bigger machine: cubers 1,450 lb (658 kg) a day or flakers 2,200 lb (998 kg) a day, and no need for a prefilter.

Twin PF-i2000²

You want the same ratings with a 20 inch prefilter in front, and chloramine reduction.

Triple-i4000²

You need up to 5 gpm and 36,000 gallons for a high-volume machine.

Installation

Installation and servicing

Everpure's installation tips: choose a mounting location that supports the full weight of the system when it is operating. Never use a saddle valve. Use a 3/4 inch water line. Do not connect the system to a water-cooled condenser. Install it vertically with the cartridges hanging down and 2.5 inches (6.35 cm) of clearance below them. Flush the cartridges by running water through the system for five minutes at full flow.

The system is 25.26 inches high, 16.6 inches wide and 5.5 inches deep (64.1 × 42.1 × 13.9 cm), and weighs 18 lb (8.1 kg) in operation. The inlet is 3/4 inch MNPT and the outlet is 3/4 inch FNPT. Those are NPT thread sizes, so we confirm the fittings needed for your pipework at survey. No electrical connection is needed.

Everpure's operation tips: change the cartridges on a regular six-month preventative maintenance programme, or when capacity is reached or pressure falls below 10 psi (0.7 bar). Keep service flow under 3.34 gpm. Always flush at installation and at every change. We set the schedule at survey and change the cartridges under a maintenance plan. The survey is chargeable and is credited back if you go ahead.

In the UK

Supplied, installed and serviced across the UK

Across most of southern and eastern England, mains water is very hard. Rain filtering through chalk and limestone dissolves calcium and magnesium, and that scale coats heating elements, so we size every system to your supply and your equipment.

Tell us about your site and what you need the water for. We specify the system, fit it and keep it running under Comprehensive Maintenance.
